Welcome to RCP Lab
A short journey to a gate reveals perception, planning, learning, context, and resource rationality working together.
The RCP framework
RCP Lab is a newly established research group. Until the lab’s own projects mature, the work showcased here primarily reflects the PI’s previous research. These projects illustrate the range of questions, methods, and computational approaches that shape the lab’s current research directions.

The lab
Principal Investigator
Sabyasachi is the principal investigator of RCP Lab. He studies perception, planning, learning, contextual inference, and resource-rational cognition using behavioral experiments and computational models.
PhD student (co-advised with Pratik Mutha)
Sanket is an incoming PhD student (co-advised with Prof. Pratik Mutha) and is interested in understanding the role of reward in motor control and learning.
Master's student
Prakriti is interested in active sensing and investigates the computational principles underlying information gathering through implicit vision and active touch-based exploration.
Master's student
Smruti studies context-dependent evidence integration, examining how contextual cues guide perceptual decisions in a random dot motion discrimination task.
Master's student
Shrikant is interested in the interactions between perception and learning and investigates how they shape behavior using a multiple object tracking task.
Master's student
Sahil is interested in computational philosophy and investigates the fundamental nature of perception from a computational perspective.
